Bloody, gory and action-packed — that’s what REPO MEN is all about. I was squirming in my seat as the cutting, slashing and flowing of blood (lots) started from the beginning of movie. And I still wondered why the movie rated M18 when I got the tix.

Jude Law is the top organ repo man with receding hairline living in a sad sad world. He is playing himself in the show — he gets a girlfriend while still married to his wife with a kid.

Some question popped in my mind after the movie:
- Why is there a need for the repo men to have a tattoo on their neck?
- Why aren’t the repo men arrested by the police for the crimes they commit?
- Why do the repo men have the rights to break into people’s houses and properties?
- Do you wish to live in your sweetest dream or reality?

II’m still thinking about the answers, share your insights with me, would you?

the dark knight

Watched The Dark Knight last night.

Boss told me it’s quite disturbing so I went with a heavy heart, expecting something really sadistic and depressing. But it was actually not that bad. Or have I gone numbed?! Oh noes..

Apparently the ferry bombs scene disturbed him the most, but I thought since it ended on a positive note, it’s not all dark and hopeless. There is still some hope on humanity.

Anyways, onto not so serious stuff, Joker is hilarious when he dressed up as a NURSE, completed with a blonde WIG!! LOL!! Joker is quite humorous actually, in a sadistic way.

Love Batman’s bike that transformed out of his Batmobile. Love love love its big fat tyres.

Alright that’s it, go catch it. Christian Bale looks really fine.

It was weekend and we headed to the rich man’s zone for a nice dinner. We walked the whole row of eateries and finally settled at the last one. If it wasn’t for the tables outside, the shop could pass for a grocery store selling fresh fish, vegetables, pasta and wine. I love the setting!

It’ll be a good idea to make reservation cos it seems to be pretty popular (it was full house when we got there around 745pm). Greenwood Avenue is actually quite an ideal place to dine at weekends cos it’s not packed like everywhere else.

Dim Sum Dollies for Youth.sg by Airell Ang.

I heard about how good how fabulous the Dim Sum Dollies were when they had their run on the History of Singapore at Esplanade some time last year, but at that time when I finally decided I wanted to catch it, lo and behold pipples is already sold out lor.

SO! When I got news that they are doing a rerun, I wasted no time and was one of the first to book for this February show back in November last year. Never hurt to be kiasu!

The dollies was a blast and Hossan Leong (their chopstick) was totally hilarious! Thoroughly and totally enjoyed the show. Will definitely go back for more more more!!

Can you imagine all the super nice songs and funny punchlines were written by Selena Tan (oh yes, the Mai Pen Rai singing mother in Chang & Eng)?! She’s so BIG…. on talent!! =D

p/s. If you are thinking to watch it.. TOO LATE!! The rerun was 21-28 Feb. Wait for the next one lah.

colbar by x-small.

So earlier this week, Small Boobs was excitedly announcing to me she found a very cool chillout makan place at Portsdown Road called Colbar.

I dug out one of the free magazines I pickup once in awhile and showed to her the bookmarked page if this is the one she’s talking about.

That sure did not make her a happy woman for she thought she had discovered something new, something that I did not know about. Hoho!!

I assured her she still wins cos she has already been there (tho it’s was close) and I have not.

And so just the other day, I decided to check it out, after wanting to do so for a long while. I was smsing her on something else and at the end of our conversation she proudly informed that she’s heading to Colbar for dinner.

I replied “Hmmm” cos at this point in time I was on my way there as well.

Then she carried on to sms me telling me I would love the place cos it’s so retro.

When I reached there, I was immediately impressed by the old weighing machine standing right in the middle of the entrance. Powerness!

I scanned the place for her and her hubby but apparently they are no longer around. We then hurried to make our order at the counter cos the last order is at 8.30pm.

The food wasn’t that great but the nostalgic setting and 50years unchanged furniture, decoration, counter etc is really coolness.

Pictures of the Colbar Tiger FC hung on the wall and I was particularly tickled by the FC support team pictures. The girls in the pictures are indeed *ahem* supportive.

By the way I got lost finding my way there, I blame the constructions of all the new roads, making the whole place so confusing!

Releasing what?! Hmmm… I like this pix. It’s so… me. Heh.

If you have been bombarded with this rabbit lately on MSN, the rabbit has a name, it’s call Tuzki. The creator is not a Japanese but a Chinese uni student studying in Beijing. You can download the full set of MSN emoticons on her site.

Thanks Jess for the link!

Was browsing through the current issue of I-S and something in the art section caught my eyes (ok fine! The image of a skater boy caught my eyes). It was a showcase of Australian video artists on street culture.

Ya know, street culture and stuff, macam cool like that. Looks interesting, not sure if I can appreciate much of it cos I’m such a sucker for mainstream commercialised-to-death things, but I guess no harm checking it out if I happen to be in the neighbourhood.

Best of all, it’s fleeeeee. Ahem! I mean admisson is free.

Let’s cultivate some arty cells, shall we?
