I’m not sure how to describe what I’m feeling now. It’s mixed. My heart feels heavy with shock and disbelief.

Don’t know you personally that well but having just seen you recently playing in the One Heart Concert made it harder to believe it happened.

But it did.

Questions filled my head but just couldn’t really ask why. There’s nothing to do but trust that God has His purpose.

I’ll see you Reuben.

sam yuk primary school 1988

This was my farewell at Sam Yuk Primary School. I was to return to Singapore for my PSLE cos dad wasn’t too impressed with the Hong Kong education system of all subjects (except English) being taught in Cantonese.

We were the first batch of students of the school, which sadly is not in existent anymore today. The intake was so small the class of Primary 5 and 6 were combined (so were Primary 1/2 and Primary 3/4).

I was doing Primary 6 and I had only one other classmate. Haha!!

See where the boys are looking? This photo is such a gem! Thanks Sam for digging it out and uploading it on facebook!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! =D

Unremorseful.

I know many people don’t really think much about the photo they include in their resume or job application forms, which I must admit I behaved the same last time.

Now, I take a different viewpoint.

Cos when you have to go through small pile of papers, what catches your eyes and stop you in the process of a quick browse through the seemingly identical resumes, is a photo.

With a photo, you achieve objective number one — catch the attention of potential employer to read more about you. And fortunately or unfortunately, the photo forms the first impression.

What to do? We are all superficial creatures and look matters.

Admit it you all. Don’t pretend!

So anyways, my point is, a good photo will get you second looks on your resume and increased chance of being called for interviews.

So now, choose you resume photos wisely, but don’t set too high an expectation and end up having your potential employer not recognising you when you turn up for interview.

Don’t laugh. It happens.

Finally, if you really want to impress, stick a neoprint picture instead of a conventional headshot. THAT will definitely stop your potential employer in his/her track and take a real good look at your resume. Hehe!!
