Yeps, after all these years (about 7 or 8 I think) of non-servicing/ maintenance/ taking care, my wonderful fridge of ability to self produce ice-cubes with ice-water on tap has finally given up its last breathe and officially kong kar kiao-ed (translate: died).
It couldn’t have chosen a better time then when mom and dad are back for their summer break, cos if it broke down while I’m alone, which it did threatened to do so a few times, I would just throw out everything in the fridge and survive fridge-less. Till mom and dad comes back.
Anyways, it refused to work anymore on Sunday and we had to clear out everything, which ofcos turned bad over the 1 day and 1 night without fridge.
In a way it’s good actually, forced us to do some spring cleaning of the fridge. It seriously has too much expired junk in it — including 2 rows of eggs.
I can’t remember when they were bought, after sometime I reckoned it’s best not to eat them, but I didn’t throw them out either. I just left them there, as part of the decoration in the fridge, like y’all know, pretending there are “food” in the fridge lah.
Thankfully to Auntie Tan (mom’s buddy), we managed to get a 2nd hand fridge at only $50. Coolness. She even helped delivered the fridge to our place.
When I got home on Monday after the 2nd hand fridge was delivered, I almost couldn’t squeeze past the 2 fridges to get into the laundry room. My kitchen became SO cramp.
It’s going to be major works moving out the old fridge I know cos it’s huge and the doorway is small. I heard they had to dismantle the fridge doors before moving in 7/8 years ago. Sweat!
However last night when I got back, I was surprised to see that the old fridge is gone. My kitchen suddenly so spacious! Yay!
Then this morning when I went out the door to work, I saw the old fridge standing guard at the staircase outside my house. Power!! My dad and brother are Superman and Superboy.
