Learning Dutch
July 9, 2007 1:59 pm TravelWhat faster way to learn a new language than by shopping?! Well, I still can’t speak it, but reading wise I’ve definitely figured out what the following Dutch words meant.
Paskamer - Fitting Rooms
Kassa - Cashier
Solden - Sale
And ofcos I’ve learned new words from figuring out their menus too. We are adaptive creatures ya. Heh.
First few days of the trip I was living like models — surviving on coffee and drugs (flu), minus the smoking. No appetite from being sick plus there was really nothing much to eat sadly, just bread and more bread. In the end I discovered I actually lost weight after the trip. Hohoho!!
