Not exactly forever, but they last.
Just like my Nokia 6510. Despite being despised by many as old, no colour, monotone, small memory size, no camera etc, I love it! For its simplicity and durability (enduring my many many drops from atrocious heights).
My only complain thusfar is the adaptor. It’s really got nothing to do with the phone itself per se, but they come together lah. The adaptor I’m using now is actually from my previous phone(long story, lazy to explain), so, the speed of charging the phone cannot be compared to those power adaptors of the new Nokia models. It takes the whole night (almost but long enough) just to charge from 2 bars to full.
The speed used to be tolerable until I discover how fast those new adaptors charges my phone. Just merely over lunch, my phone is fully charged from one bar. I ish impressed (fine, fine, I suakoo can?).
Then someone asked me to bring my adaptor for our weekend trip. Big mistake. Her phone will spend the whole trip attached to my adaptor lorz. Might as well connect to 2 AA batteries maybe better, as least it’s mobile and not connected via cable to the socket.
It has been 4years 7months since I got it at $30+ (if I didn’t recall wrongly, so cheap! I think already also want to laugh) and it’s still going strong.
Ok lah, only the cover abit cracked (from the many many drops), colour of the cover abit worn off at the corners and sides, sometimes auto shutdown by itself, screens abit scratched (cos of someone’s crystal), everything is well and fine.
If, one day, due to its ripe old age the phone should die on me, the next phone I want to get is… Nokia 6100. Hohoho!!
Cannot jump too fast mah, one step at a time. Upgrade to a phone with colour can already.
