I was reading WCIII’s much frequently updated blog and latest was on how youths can hear higher frequency sounds compared to adults. I have my doubts, but it was proven true to me by 2 youths last week in church.

There I was going into screensaver mode in the pew before service starts. 2 boys sitting infront of me were chatting away. Suddenly one of them turned around and shoved his mobile in my face, “Can you hear??”

I gave a blank look for I can’t hear a single thing.

Smugly he turned to his friend and said, “See! I told you older pipple cannot hear this one. Can you hear?”

The other boy nodded his head in a equally smug manner.

Grrr… feel like smacking their heads.

I asked what he was trying to let me hear. He said it’s a “special” ringtone, only young people can hear.

I asked him to play it again. I strained my ears trying to listen. While replaying, the boy told the other, “You know, I played this at home and my mother, aunties, uncle and grandma all also cannot hear leh.”

Gaaah!!

Am I that old already?!

Finally after replaying the “special” ringtone for about 3 times, I hear this faint but super high pitch sound.

Boliao lorzzz.

In digression, I chanced upon the result show of Singapore Idol season 2 while channel surfing on Monday. I watched for short but long enough while to get disgusted seeing the SI rejects lipsyncing to their songs.

Seriously, wassup with that man?! This is suppose to be a singing competition, no? I see they finally realise their participants cannot sing for real.

We are planning to visit QM in the hospital. Visit people cannot go empty-handed right? So we ask around for people to share buying something for her.

And I smsed XWen.

Dan: We bought something for QM. You wanna share?

Wen: Okay.. what did you guys buy?

Dan: Gold bar and gold coins.

Wen: !

Dan: Ya, we decided to be realistic.

*after a long pause*

Wen: Steady.. I like!

Anyways, QM mmsed us a picture she just took of Lim-Bu and Kat and I just stared at the handphone screen displaying a black square.

=_=|||

Clearly lighting was waaaaay too dim and we can hardly make out the baby from the picture.

With much anticipation, QM junior has finally arrived this morning — 9.08am to be exact and weighing in at 3.355kg, she is a healthy baby girl.

She made it really easy for the gamblers to buy 4D too with her statistics. Hehe..

Congrats QM & J!!

Smsed QueenMother this morning if there are any signs of imminent birth.

She said no but had contractions the whole of last night. Pain was like menstrual cramp x100, wanna pangsai but nothing come out like that she said, then it eased off so she didn’t go hospital.

I don’t even want to start imagining how gruelling that is. Yikes!

Anyways she’s now on her way to her gynaecologist (can’t believe I managed to spell this word correctly on my first attempt.. yuhoo!) and her due is this Friday. So hopefully Ashleigh would be good and come out soon.

I told QM we are crossing our fingers for her.

And our toes, and our eyes, and our legs, and our butt cheeks. Haha!

Faster come out already lah Ashleigh, we’ve waited long enough.

Better things to those who don’t.

I arranged to meet MB at Wheelock Place after my meeting in town few days back. Why Wheelock Place? Cos itchy backside me want to check Zara out. Haven’t been there for a while you know.

Upon reaching WP, I smsed MB of my arrival and asked him to call me when he reaches. I sashayed into Zara and behold new stocks are in!

I did a quick browse around the shop and alas like that anyhow see also got a few pieces that caught my eyes. Die.

MB has arrived at this time and found me in Zara, it’s really not that hard to guess where I’ll be in WP.

Picked up a basic top which is quite cheap (really!) and conveniently a few other pieces along the way to the fitting room. I mean, no harm trying right?

I couldn’t be more wrong. There IS harm in trying. Especially if it fits you, looks good on you, you can almost see your name imprinted on that piece of clothing — it belongs to you!

And I succumbed. I bought a dress in addition to the top I intended to buy. Incorrigible I know.

Hai~

That place is evil I tell you.

That was rumoured to be what Thaksin is doing. He has just flown to London to be with his family, watching and waiting as a spectator to his own downfall on TV [Cowboy Caleb].

If you are not living in a cave, you would have got wind of a military coup in Thailand that started last night. Not the first time, infact 18th since World War II. Thank goodness it’s non-violent thusfar.

The coup leaders have declared today to be a public holiday. With tanks and soldiers on the streets, doubt anyone will be in the mood for work or school.

What a mess.

This morning I was flipping through The Straits Times, reading about the coup in the headlines. Then I turned to the 2nd page and there an AirAsia advertisement on — you’ve guessed it, airtix to Bangkok! Talk about perfect timing.

The fengshui master says this week is auspicious for moving, and so we are. There is going to be a mini-renovation in office and reshuffling of seating positions.

Also, office numbers will be changed. Good time to filter out those people whom we do not wish to keep in touch or is trying to avoid.

Just kidding lah.

Kat has chosen extension “38″, true to her personality. I chose “74″, leave you to guess why.

Kat’s cubicle is a mini provision shop — cluttered with things like snacks, soft toys, bottles of wine, bird’s nest, honey, to name a few. Those are in addition to her already mountainous work documents and files.

In view of the overwhelming task to pack her cubicle by Friday, she has gotten boxes and started packing since Monday.

As I sat watching her pack, I looked around my cubicle and is glad that I have that cabin suitcase I gotten as free gift some time ago. It will definitely come in very useful as I sweep everything off my desk and into the suitcase in one swift action.

Packing shall be a breeze for me. I think.

By Friday mah, why so kancheong? Relax lah.
