So, last last week, I went for a meeting at Sentosa Cove.

The sales office was located in the furthest part (or so I felt cos I drove a long while before reaching) of the entire cove, it was by the coast line and the view was for once with NO container vessels in sight!

Breathtaking!

So nice to be working in such an environment.

I was given a tour of the south cove, my business partner was telling me that the land parcels for sale starts at $4million. Then the buyer would have to engage their own architect to build the house, which can cost another $2-3million easily.

I remained cool and collected on the front, replying with a soft “wow”, but in my mind, I was screaming, “Fwahfwahfwah!!”.

I mean, that is alot of money, isn’t it?

It’s like there is this big bright neonlight signage bearing the words “SUGAR DADDY” blinking in your face.

As we drove past an almost completed house with a chauffeur dusting the Rolls Royce parked upfront, my business partner read my thoughts out loud, “Good place to look for sugar daddies huh..”. And we both laughed.

Even though it’s only Sentosa, but having a house on the coast line with a view without container vessels is just fabulous. You find me one beach in Singapore with view that you don’t see any form of industrial development lah.

Fine fine! Maybe you can find on Kusu Island, St John’s Island, and even Pulau Ubin perhaps.. but the point is, we hardly go these ulu places right?

Anywho, I’m just pleasantly surprised to discover there is actually somewhere with a proper sea view in our super industrialised Singapore. Nice.

sentosa cove - a view of your work place.. how attractive

Every once in a while comes along a classic story that is retold in every gatherings and remain as a classic for years to come. There are already a few circulating among my church group, which I will share another time.

Something happened in Bali and it is most definitely qualified to be called a classic.

It was a sunny breezy Bali afternoon. The 4 of us travelled on 2 bikes - yes, motorcycles not bicycles and I rode one of the bikes (and no I not have bike license), giving dear Gracie an experience of her lifetime. I hope she wasn’t scarred for life by my riding. Hehe.. Oh well, always a first time for everyone ya?!

Anyways, back to the story, we were heading for the beach after we stopped by for some shopping in Seminyak. Gracie and I were sitting on our bike, waiting for MB and Joyce to be ready.

Joyce placed her backpack on the backseat to buckle it, and as she lift it up intending to get on the bike, MB rode off!

At first, 3 of us thought MB is playing a prank on Joyce, like you know, ride off a short distance to make her walk cos she is slow like a tortoise.

But as MB rode into disappearance around the bend, we know this is not a prank. Joyce has been left behind right before our eyes!

In total disbelief we stared speechless at the bend, and then broke out in laughters.

We waited and expected his prompt return cos surely he would realise how come suddenly his bike so light and there is no one behind him… but nooo! I think we waited at least 2-3 minutes and still no sight of his return.

So we contemplated having Joyce ride on my bike as well, but we decided against it judging from my excellent riding skill.

In the end, Joyce started walking and we rode to get MB back to fetch her.

As I turned down the bend, MB came speeding back.

We questioned how he could actually rode off in total oblivion that Joyce has yet got onto the bike, he said he thought he felt something already on the backseat so he rode off!

He just noticed how come I wasn’t following him, and only until he stopped and turned his head to look for me then he realise to his horror Joyce is not there!

I think Joyce almost clobbered him to death with her backpack. And from that incident onwards, MB cannot ride off until Joyce tells him ok.

Amazing things boys do.

That was how I felt on Saturday.

I drove my parents into Johore on a hot, stuffy, humid day. Going in was ok. Getting out of Malaysia is the killer.

Queue at Malaysia custom is very long. With the agonising inch-by-inch move, guarding the gap between your car and the car infront ever so carefully incase some bugger tries to cut in, the drain physically is remarkable.

I had to go through it twice.

Cos the queue at Singapore custom is equally freaking long. Argggh!

The evening sun was cruelly glaring and hot. I glanced at the rear view mirror only to see Dave snoozing away in bliss. Grrr..

I was dying from fatique when we finally cleared the customs. The last mile is really the ultimate test of my will to stay awake. My eye lids were so heavy, I dozed off a few times without realising, it was not funny at all.

Hanging onto the steering wheel cruising down TPE, I remembered thinking to myself, “Just a while more and I’ll be able to sleep, don’t freaking crash the car now!”

We reached home safely. Thank God.

I was beyond tired at this point — parking the car, taking a quick shower was all done by sheer willpower. I think I fell asleep before my head touched my pillow.

Somehow, I don’t know how, after a wink (literally), I got up for dinner with the family.

When I finally reached home after running my errands and sat down on the sofa, it was already 11plus and I swiftly plonked myself into bed for a long Sunday beckons.

I ish old le. Cannot take this anymore. Spare me please.

Note: For those who are CL2 (Chinese Language 2) challenged, lei is tired in Mandarin.

In our secondary school days, or for those who reached enlightenment earlier, primary school days, there are bound to be boys (or maybe just one boy) who we secretly have the biggest crush on, totally adores them and found them to be so handsome!

Whenever we reminisce, we will always remember them as the cute boy who swept us off our feet.

Ever met them again after leaving school?

It brings nothing but regret and disappoint and crushing of sweet memories.

It’s either:
(a) they have put on so much weight/aged, they are beyond recognition.
(b) they didn’t change much but cos your handsome standard has raised, they don’t seem so handsome anymore.

And you are totally bewildered why on earth did you find them so handsome last time!

On the contratory, girls improve with time. Slimmer and prettier they become.

I guess some things are best left as memories cos just like wine, memories get sweeter with time. Reality bites.

I can’t help it. I’m just too goodlooking.
