Yesh, the nomination day is today and the result is out. I, resident of Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, one of the eligible 178,443 electors in the GRC, has to vote. For the first time in my life.
Some people are quite excited to have the chance to vote, but as for me, I’m just… lazy. Anyways, not as if I have a choice now.
I looked at the opposition party for my GRC and I’m not impressed, at all.
Take a look at the PAP team, they are made up of lawyer, managing directors, general manager, vice president and not to mention a powerhouse minister — Teo Chee Hean leading the team.
Take a look at the opposition party — Singapore Democratic Alliance. They don’t even have their photos displayed except for the team leader, they should give their PR people a good whacking. Who are they? Sales executive, engineer, property agent, town council estate officer and other unidentified occupations.
What a load of difference!
Quite obvious who everyone in their sensible mind would vote for.
We have been hearing this slogan in past elections (or something to the extent): Voting is complusory. Voting is sacred. Voting is secretive confidential.
Since my GRC won by walkover last election, Kat who got to vote (quite excitedly) told me it’s total bullcrap about “voting is secretive confidential” coz they record your NRIC against your pollcard serial number to mark your attendance. Duh! Like that you vote for who everyone (at least the government) knows lah! What secretive confidential?!
Dare you to vote for the opposition lah, later your house 6 months got electricity no water, 6 months got water no electricity then you know ah!
I still don’t know where my polling centre is coz I have been waiting forever for the website to load and now it tells me it’s busy wor.
