It’s amazing how a group of strangers can bond so quickly in such a short span of time. I guess all we need is common interest and the right frequency to connect.

It started out as simple as people coming together to play. Then seeds of friendship sprouted. Evolving from occasional chatting with some individuals to a regular group chatting session over MSN during the week. Through the many sessions we let our guards down and opened ourselves up to one another.

Some say it’s easier to talk through text. I agree. Personally I find it easier to express myself through written words than verbal words. Is this a handicap? Maybe.

Everytime I tell someone I’m actually shy in nature, they’ll always recoil in horror and then burst out laughing, they find it incredulous. But it’s true!! I do have problem taking initiative to talk to strangers.

Ok maybe I should rephrase and say I’m not friendly by nature, to which I’m sure many heads will nod in unison like a row of porcelain dogs with heads dangling on springs, saying, “Ya lor she very stuck-up.”

Outings soon followed. Very frequent infact. November was a busy month for us, we bonded, so quickly.

netball xmas partyXmas came and went. We had a fabulous time celebrating Xmas at Roxy Hotel, filled with all the good stuff — feasting, laughing, joking, sabo-ing and heart-to-heart chat in the wee hours of morning. Tho I dozed off a few times despite my utmost effort to stay awake in our wee hours chat, I managed to catch those sweet words being shared and it warmed my heart.

I can’t wait for the many more good times we will share ahead.

During Xmas gift exchange…

Metrosexual Boy: Wah~ That is such an apt gift for Dan, she finally has new sandals, her current one are so old already..

QueenMother: Really? Only 1 pair of sandals?

MB: Ya, she only buy for replacements, which she calls the JIT (just in time) inventory management system. So unlike the typical girl.

Dan: And you are not the typical guy either, with your exploding wardrobe filled with clothes and shoes, you need to do annual stock take.

bad hand
A very very bad hand.

In line of the joyous and holiday mood we have in office, I shall re-post something light. Here’s something MB took with his camera phone while driving some time ago.

The bike looks tiny bit too small for him.

Now we can see the difference.

I read this on Tomorrow.sg. Damn funny. Can apply for Zara sale too.

1) Make sure you bring small bags that does not make you suspicious of theft.

2) Lose a few inches here and there before the great sales if you want to be able to squeeze through the rest of the shoppers to get to your items.

3) Develop sharp eyesight/ bring your best reading glasses before you go for a sale so that you can pick out the treasures from all the junk.

4) Being able to change outside the fitting room is a good skill to pick up because the queues for the fitting rooms will be super long at such times: learn how to change without exposing yourself.

5) Bring a portable fitting room:a few friends with a big towel to cover you if you can, so that you don’t have to wait so long for the changing room.

6)wear skirts with elastic for easy removal and trying of bottoms.

7) Don’t be misled by the price tag, read it carefully first to see if you have gotten the digits right.

8) Be ready to starve after the sale. It is never as cheap as it seems.

9) Know what you want.Don’t buy for the sake of buying something at a “cheaper” price.

10) Best to go other shops before that so that you can compare prices and quality of similar goods.

Even though I’m badly deprived of sleep.

Even though my eyes have been watery for the whole day.

Even though I kept yawning.

I went to check out the Mango sale last evening.

When I was in KL, I saw how packed the Mango stores were coz of the sale, due the company I was with, I was paiseh to have them wait while I check out the sale. So I determined that I should go once I return. And went I did.

The madness! I had to battle the crowd in search of treasure. Can you imagine being pushed away literally while you are checking out the rack of clothes in front of you?! I tell you, the kiasu-ness extend of these women/aunties is unbelievable.

Anyway, after all the jostling and queuing at the fittng room, I only bought a top with this cute kitty design, but it’s something I have been eyeing for some time. I’m well pleased with myself.

MB knew the sale for Mango was on and did not inform me before I left for KL, I gave him an earful for that and made him promised to notify me immediately should Zara goes on sale. There are so many nice clothes I want to buy there. Can’t wait. *tinkling with excitement*

I’m back. From attending a wedding in KL.

After a grueling 7 and half hours coach ride to KL, all thanks to traffic jams at Tuas checkpoint and on the way into KL, and another equally torturing journey back to SG. Even tho I travelled with a person as pig as me (we slept all the way to and fro), still very tired now.

ad at KL toll Reached KL Saturday afternoon, went straight to meet the gang in church, dinner then rehearsal at the hotel. As I sat innocently watching the rehearsal, they discovered they don’t have someone to coordinate the marching in sequence for the ceremony, conveniently I was appointed. That meant I had to come in early on the wedding day (Sunday) for another round of rehearsal. And I thought I could sleep in and just come attend the ceremony in the afternoon. But anyway, thank goodness everything went smoothly.

Dinner was right after the wedding ceremony, food was great! Exceeded our expectations coz hotel food usually sucks. It was good catching up with everyone at the table since we have not met for a long time, some since we left Melbourne.

After the dinner, some of us adjourned to the hotel room of the groom’s brother and sister. We decided to stayover for the night to play UNO, with Aussie rules!! Just like the good old days. We laughed so hard and so much all our tummies were hurting after the game.

It was a race to 1,000 points and by the time we finish the game, it was 5.30am. We couldn’t take it anymore and went to sleep. 2 hours later the phone rang and it was a morning call from the parents for breakfast. I almost died trying to wake up, but have to give the parents some face, so all of us forced ourselves down to the restaurant.

ex-melbourne gangI was so deprived of sleep my eyes were all watery and head was heavy, I felt so groggy while stuffing myself with food. I really love their wide selection of bread, so yummy!

Then, we went back to the hotel room and started another round of UNO. Who knows when will be the next time all of us shall gather again, so we decided to play to our hearts’ content.

Soon, it was time for us to bid our goodbyes and thereby starting another long coach ride home. My travelling partner and I caught up on our much needed sleep on the journey ofcoz. I slept so much that my contact lens almost fell out when I try open my eyes coz they were so dry. Horrible.

It was a good but tiring trip.
