Few nights ago my mom called to complain how she can never reach my 2 brothers on the phone. She feels deprived not able to talk to them, so she bugs me. The thing is, I see my brothers on MSN, so if I’m near the computer, I will “scream” at them over MSN on not calling mom.

Kat suggest I should teach my mom MSN so she can talk to them. Her nick can then be “Your Mother” and my dad’s “Your Father”, and they will only have 3 persons on their contact list — my 2 brothers and me. Heh.

Quite hard lah I think, tho it’s never too old to learn new things.

I used to have this standard in choosing my boyfriend: handsome + rich. Very bimbo I know but well… we can all dream right?

I was once asked this question: which guy would you choose — handsome but poor OR rich but ugly? My answer is handsome but poor, coz no money can still earn right? My friend’s answer is even more power, she’ll go for the rich but ugly and then keep the handsome but poor guy as toy boy. Terrible thought, but then again, quite true hor. Haha!!

Just a guys have their standards for girls, we have our standards for guys too. Among my buddies, here’s what we came up:

Most important of all, a guy must be goodlooking;
if he is not goodlooking, then he must be tall;
if he is not even tall, then he must be rich;
if he is not even rich, then he must be a nice person;
if he is not even nice, then let fate decides (shui yuan).

Though I would dream of a handsome and rich guy as boyfriend, if such a guy actually liked me, I think I’ll freak out. I’ll feel so insecure, wondering if the other girls will deem I’m not good enough for him, or what does he actually see in me etc etc. Hai~ Life is filled with such dilemmas.

When will we learn to have the confidence to embrace whatever comes along? And how many times did we let opportunities slip us by simply coz we refuse to take risk?

MB and I saw the trailer for King Kong last week in cinema and we had a good laugh. Don’t get me wrong, King Kong is not a comedy but the elements that appeared in the trailer just made us laugh.

Timeline is 1930s. You see a familar vessel by the port, you exclaimed, “Titanic!!” Yup, it looks just like the doomed liner, or maybe all the liners at that era looks the same.

Nevermind the fact that the liner later got into trouble and ended up shipwrecked. Passengers were stranded on an island with unfriendly habitants, sounds like LOST, and the island looked abit like the set of LOTR (same director) .

Nevermind, nevermind, suddenly T-Rex from Jurassic Park appears! *facepalm*

Then for unknown reasons (not shown in trailer lah), King Kong ended up in New York (Mighty Joe Young) and did what he had to do — climb up the State Empire Building and do his chest banging thingy.

So you tell me, joke anot?

tiga in a box 01

tiga in a box 02

Not sure about if your cat loves boxes, but mine sure does.

I got these boxes to replace the soaked shoe boxes containing my precious letters. The moment I lift off the cover, Tiga jumped right in and made himself comfortable.

First, let me sigh.

HAI~

I must say I’m quite disappointed with the latest installment of Harry Potter. The whole movie is so rushed. I didn’t read the novel, but I’m sure a lot of interesting details are being left out.

[Warning: Spoilers Ahead]

Right at the beginning of the movie is the Quidditch World Cup — the stadium is awesome, the atmosphere electrifying, teams were introduced… and then *whoosh* the scene takes us back to the tent they were staying in and we never even have the chance to see any action of the game. What the…. CRAP!!

Also, it would be great if they included details of other activities during the Quidditch World Cup other than pitching their magical tents all over the place. It’s like letting you smell the most delicious roast duck drumstick and not letting you eat it.

harry and hermioneSame at the first challenge at the Triwizard Tournament, why oh why did they rush through it and not show us how the other candidates got through the task? The other 3 are also quite handsome/pretty wat, I sure would love to see them having more screen time.

Ya ya I know Harry is the nan zhu jiao (main lead), all the limelight must be on him, but no need to totally neglect the rest of the people mah.

And why is Dumbledore so freaking fierce?!! Isn’t he suppose to be this gentle and mild-tempered headmaster? He looks like he is going into fits everytime he speaks.

I know it’s a thick book to squeeze into a 2 and 1/2 hours show, but… but… this is too disappointing. Make it into 2 parts or whatever, I’ll happily pay and watch.

nasi padangI was just walking past an old coffeeshop opposite Great World City during lunchtime on Monday. The coffeeshop is packed and everyone, seriously, everyone there is eating Nasi Padang.

Suddenly I felt very hungry. My mouth watered just thinking about assam fish, rendang and all the other nice spicy dishes. I realised I haven’t eaten Nasi Padang for a long time. I miss it!!

Nasi Padang is something I just can’t get tired of, there must be something in the food. When I was in Poly, I had Nasi Padang almost everyday tho the queue is always incredibly long coz there is only one Malay stall in the congested canteen 6 of SP. Ramadan is my happiest period, coz why? You’ve guessed it — there is no queue.

There is a Nasi Padang eating place in Macpherson (near the huge kopitiam) that I frequent regularly when I was working near there. The Nasi Padang there is so nice. The eating place is called — “Nasi Padang”. So cute hor.

I’m craving for Penang Laksa now too. It’s an acquired taste I reckon. Some people dislike it for its sourness and fishy taste. Oh well…

I want my food now!!

I wake up late on Sundays, as usual. They are my sacred days of sleeping in, unless my house is on fire, nothing can peel me off my bed before lunch time. Then again, unless the dowager (my mom) is in town, coz she’ll demand I go breakfast with her and dad.

Anywho, normally during the week, I’ll try to stock up on food or at least make sure there is something edible in the house on Sunday so I wouldn’t have to step out for grocery shopping. I absolutely hate going to NTUC Fairprice on Sundays, packed with kids doing their utmost best performance of PDN (public display of naughtiness) completed with yelling fathers/mothers. Hai~ Why submit myself to such torture right? Plus despite the cashiers’ frantic effort to scan and punch in the items at top speed, the queue is always so long. So sian.

Last Sunday, I kinda ran out of food. I always make sure the stock level of instant noodle is adequate, but it seems like I have nothing to add into the noodles. Must eat healthy you know, even tho it’s only instant noodles. I dug into my fridge — found few stalks of caixin with leaves starting to turn yellow. I thought to myself, “Huh.. must eat vegetarian instant noodles ah..”

I looked into the cupboard again, I could not describe the joy when I found 2 cans of sardine sitting there. Yay!! I love sardines!! And I have totally forgotten I have bought them and left them in the cupboard.

So there you have it, a narrow escape from having to go through the horrendous experience of grocery shopping on Sundays.

Oh, I have also recently bought a bundle of 3 packs of toilet paper rolls. I don’t want to run out of toilet paper when I’m crapping man. Cannot take for granted these necessities will miraculously top up by themselves now that my parents is not around lor.

Isn’t it amazing how technoogy advances? Mobile phones are just getting more and more complex each day.

If you need a phone with camera, here’s the one for you (I think I have posted this before but I can’t find my post, must have disappeared on the dooms day months ago where all my posts vanished). Doesn’t it look so cool and high tech?!
